Game Overview

Gauntlet II takes everything that made the original great and cranks it up—especially the chaos when you’ve got three friends crammed on the couch with you. Now you can all pick the same class if you want (four wizards? sure, why not), with colors keeping track of who’s who. The dungeons got weirder too—sometimes the whole screen rotates mid-level, or you’ll step on a tile that freezes you in place while skeletons shamble closer.

My favorite addition is the "It" enemy—touch one, and suddenly every monster on the floor is chasing you until you tag a teammate or bolt for the exit. There’s also this ridiculous multi-square dragon that takes forever to kill, and secret rooms hidden behind weird conditions like "don’t take the fake exit first." The music’s a banger too—that iconic Gauntlet theme debuted here, all dramatic harpsichord vibes.

It’s still about frantically shoving quarters into health potions while your friends yell at you to stop stealing their food, just with more ways to accidentally ruin each other’s day.
