Game Overview

Geekwad: Games of the Galaxy came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from The Software Toolworks. It was a compilation of several older titles repackaged for a new audience, a common practice at the time to reintroduce software to the growing home computer market. The collection felt like a time capsule from the earlier days of PC gaming, offering a sampler of different genres without much fanfare or polish.

You control various characters across the included games, from a spaceship pilot to a fantasy adventurer. The main objective changes with each title, but generally involves clearing screens of enemies, solving simple environmental puzzles, or surviving waves of opponents. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, direct projectile combat, and collecting items or power-ups to progress. The pacing is often frantic, and the difficulty can be unforgiving due to dated control schemes and limited lives. Playing it feels like browsing through a stack of well-worn, slightly unpredictable floppy disks.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
