Game Overview

Grand Prix 2 is one of those rare racing sims that still holds up decades later. You start off staring at a shockingly detailed (for MS-DOS) cockpit—like, you can actually see the texture of the steering wheel and read the dials. The first time I tried it, I immediately crashed at the first corner because I forgot how twitchy those '94 F1 cars were without traction control.

What’s wild is how much you can tweak. Messing with gear ratios feels like black magic at first, but after a few races, you start noticing how a slight adjustment completely changes how the car attacks Eau Rouge. And the AI? They don’t just follow a script—they make mistakes, get aggressive, and sometimes spin out in the rain just like real drivers.

The turn-based multiplayer is hilariously chaotic too. You take your turn hotlapping, then watch your friend’s ghost car try to beat your time while the AI fills in the gaps. It shouldn’t work, but somehow it does. If you’ve ever wanted to feel the weight of a V10-era F1 car without the G-forces, this is still the best way to do it.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
