Game Overview

Grand Prix 500 II came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Microïds. It was a racing title from a time when 3D graphics were still primitive, and games relied on tight mechanics and a steep challenge to hold players' attention.

You control a Formula One car from a first-person perspective, managing speed and traction through a full season of races. The main objective is to win the championship by outperforming aggressive AI opponents across famous tracks like Monza and Silverstone. Signature mechanics include manual gear shifting for optimal acceleration, careful tire and fuel management during pit stops, and memorizing each course's tricky corners to avoid spinning out. The pacing is relentless; one mistake often means losing several positions, and the AI drivers show no mercy. It feels like a constant battle for control, demanding full concentration from start to finish.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
