Game Overview

Hero’s Heart is one of those MS-DOS games that somehow slipped under the radar back in the day, which is a shame because it’s got this weirdly addictive charm. You start off in some dingy tavern—classic RPG stuff—but within minutes, you’re knee-deep in pixelated dungeons, swinging a sword at spiders and poking at suspicious-looking walls for hidden switches.

The combat’s simple but satisfying, with just enough weight behind each swing to make it feel like you’re actually hitting something. And the puzzles? They’re the kind that make you scribble notes on actual paper, which I haven’t done since the ’90s. No hand-holding here—just you, a flickering CRT glow, and the occasional panic when you realize you forgot to save.

It’s not the prettiest or the most ambitious game from that era, but there’s something about the way it nails the basics that keeps you going. If you’ve ever wasted an afternoon on old Sierra or Apogee games, this one’s right up your alley. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
