Game Overview

International Tennis Open on MS-DOS was one of those games where you could tell the developers just wanted to make something fun, not overthink it. The courts were blocky, the players moved like stiff little sprites, but man—hitting that perfect cross-court shot felt weirdly satisfying. You could practically hear the imaginary crowd cheer.

No fancy power meters or stamina systems here—just tap the keys to swing, sprint, and occasionally faceplant when you misjudged a volley. The AI wasn’t exactly smart, but it had this sneaky way of lobbing the ball just out of reach when you least expected it. And doubles? Absolute chaos, especially with a friend smashing buttons next to you.

It’s definitely a product of its time, but there’s something charming about how straightforward it is. You won’t get realism, but you’ll get a grin when your pixelated serve somehow aces the opponent. Still holds up if you’re in the mood for some old-school, no-nonsense tennis.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
