Game Overview

If you ever wanted to feel like Tony Stark suiting up and causing some high-tech chaos, this PSP version of Iron Man delivers—just with slightly chunkier graphics than the console versions. You start off in that clunky prototype armor, blasting your way out of a cave, and by the time you’re in the red-and-gold suit, you’re already unloading missiles on tanks like it’s no big deal.

The missions follow the movie’s plot but throw in extra comic book villains like Whiplash, which is a nice surprise. Downey Jr.’s voice acting helps sell the whole "genius billionaire playboy philanthropist" vibe, even if the PSP’s tiny speakers don’t do him justice. The controls take a second to get used to—flying feels a little stiff at first, but once you’ve upgraded your repulsors, zipping around and roasting enemies with the flamethrower never gets old.

Instead of buying upgrades, your gear improves the more you use it, which means you’ll end up favoring certain weapons just to see what they turn into. The Unibeam is stupidly satisfying when you finally unlock it. Just don’t expect the same polish as the PS3 version—this one’s a solid portable fix for blowing stuff up as Stark.
