The first time I played, I spent way too long just laughing at Toad in a little merchant outfit.

It’s got that classic Japanese board game vibe—simple rules but sneaky strategy. You’ll land on spaces, flip cards that either help or ruin your day, and occasionally stumble into mini-games that feel like they were designed by a drunk Goomba. The pixel art’s super charming, though, and hearing the Dragon Quest victory fanfare after stealing a district from Luigi never gets old.
