Game Overview

Jewel Quest: Mysteries on the DS is one of those games that hooks you with its mix of match-three puzzles and a surprisingly decent adventure story. You start off swapping gems like any puzzle game, but then it throws in these little artifact hunts and journal pages that slowly piece together the whole "cursed emerald" thing. The touchscreen makes the gem-swapping feel way more satisfying than it should.

What surprised me was how the puzzles actually get tricky—not just "match three red gems" forever. Some boards have locked tiles or weird shapes that force you to think ahead. And yeah, the story’s cheesy in that classic hidden-object-game way, but I kinda got into figuring out who cursed the emerald and why. It’s a solid time-killer if you like puzzles with a side of light treasure-hunting.
