Game Overview

Kaitou Wario the Seven is one of those weird, charming DS games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s Wario at his sneaky best. You play as the greedy anti-hero breaking into museums, dodging security, and solving little environmental puzzles to swipe the Rainbow Medals. The whole thing feels like a mix between a heist game and a point-and-click adventure, with Wario’s signature over-the-top animations when he fails (which, let’s be honest, happens a lot at first).

The levels are these compact, puzzle-box spaces where you’re poking at objects, triggering traps, and occasionally running from guards in a panic. It’s got that classic WarioWare quirkiness, too—one minute you’re carefully timing a vault laser dodge, the next you’re shaking the DS to dislodge a chandelier. Not everything translates perfectly (some moon logic puzzles had me scratching my head), but when it clicks, it’s stupidly satisfying.

If you’ve got a soft spot for oddball DS gems or just want to see Wario commit crimes with zero remorse, this one’s worth digging up.
