Game Overview

Leading Company on the SNES is one of those weirdly addictive business sims that somehow makes corporate takeovers feel fun. You start off picking an industry—I went with electronics first, which was a mistake because my rival immediately undercut my prices—and then it’s all about expanding, scheming, and occasionally panicking when your profits nosedive. The whole thing plays like a board game on steroids, with bright, chunky sprites and this oddly satisfying loop of buying out competitors or watching your stock tank.

It’s got that classic ‘90s Japanese quirkiness too—like, at one point I had to bribe a politician with what I’m pretty sure was a golf club. The music’s cheery, the mechanics are simple but just deep enough to make you feel like a genius when your textile empire finally turns a profit. If you’ve ever wanted to ruin a virtual rival’s life with hostile takeovers while bopping to peppy chiptunes, this is your game.

Honestly, it’s a miracle my company survived past year three.
