Lemmings is one of those games that looks simple until you actually play it. You’ve got these little guys mindlessly marching to their doom—cliffs, traps, water, you name it—and it’s your job to guide them safely to the exit. But here’s the catch: you don’t control them directly. Instead, you pick from a set of skills (digging, climbing, floating, etc.) and assign them to specific Lemmings at just the right moment.

The first few levels ease you in, but before long, you’re frantically clicking to turn one into a builder to make a bridge while another bashes through a wall, all before the rest walk off a ledge. Some levels give you barely any skills to work with, forcing you to get creative. And if you think losing a few is fine, think again—most levels demand you save a certain percentage, or it’s game over.

It’s chaotic, sometimes frustrating, but ridiculously satisfying when you finally nail a tricky level. The Amiga version still holds up with its crisp graphics and that iconic soundtrack. Just don’t be surprised if you catch yourself humming the tune hours later.
