Lemmings came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by DMA Design. It was one of those puzzle games that felt perfectly at home on a PC, sitting alongside other thoughtful titles that demanded more from you than just quick reflexes.

You don't control the lemmings directly; instead, you assign specific skills to individual lemmings from a limited pool to alter their path and prevent them from walking into traps. The main objective is to guide a required number of them to the exit on each screen. Key mechanics include building stairs with blockers to redirect the crowd, and using bombers to clear obstructions when necessary. The pacing is methodical at first but quickly becomes frantic as you manage the endless stream of followers. It feels like conducting a chaotic, miniature rescue operation where every second and every click counts.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
