You control either Mario or Luigi, moving across a series of single-screen stages filled with platforms and pipes. The goal is to clear each level of enemies like Shellcreepers and Sidesteppers by hitting the platform beneath them to flip them over, then kicking them away before they recover. You have to avoid enemies and falling fireballs while managing the pace as creatures emerge faster from the pipes. It feels tense and immediate, demanding quick reflexes and careful positioning with every move.
