Game Overview

Math Rescue came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup from Apogee Software. It was a time when educational games tried to blend learning with platforming action, and this one stood out for its straightforward approach. You didn't need a powerhouse PC to run it; it fit right in with the era's simpler, focused designs.

You control a character who jumps across platforms, clearing pollution by solving math problems that pop up on screen. The main goal is to restore each level's environment by correctly answering equations before moving on. Signature mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, timed problem solving, and avoiding enemies that disrupt your progress. The pacing is brisk, with difficulty that escalates as you advance, keeping you on your toes. It feels satisfying to combine quick thinking with precise jumps, turning each solved problem into a small victory.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
