Game Overview

Maupiti Island came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Lankhor. It was a point-and-click adventure from that era when games relied on strong writing and clever puzzles rather than flashy graphics. You play as Jerome Lange, a detective stranded on a tropical island where nothing is quite as peaceful as it seems.

You control Jerome directly, moving him screen by screen to explore the island, talk to its secretive inhabitants, and collect items that help you progress. The main goal is to solve the central mystery by interrogating locals, examining your surroundings carefully, and combining objects in your inventory to overcome obstacles. The puzzles are notoriously challenging, often requiring careful observation and logical thinking rather than guesswork. Progress feels deliberate, sometimes slow, but each small discovery brings you closer to the truth. Playing it gives you the satisfaction of peeling back layers of deception one clue at a time.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
