MegaMan Battle Network 2 (EU) is one of those GBA games that just sticks with you. At first, it feels like a mix of RPG and card battler, but the deeper you go, the more it becomes its own thing. You spend a lot of time in the net, shuffling through menus, picking chips for your folder, and trying not to get wrecked by random virus encounters.
I remember getting stuck early on because I didn’t realize how much the battle system relies on positioning. You can’t just spam attacks—you’ve got to move around the grid, dodge, and time your chip combos right. The first boss took me a few tries, mostly because I kept running straight into his attacks like an idiot.
What surprised me was how much personality the game has. The net areas have this weird, glitchy charm, and some of the side quests are oddly memorable. MegaMan Battle Network 2 (EU) isn’t perfect—some of the backtracking gets tedious—but it’s got a weirdly satisfying loop of collecting, fighting, and upgrading.
