MegaMan Battle Network 5 - Team Protoman (EU) starts with that familiar grid-based combat, but this time you're working with Protoman instead of going solo. The first few battles feel like a warm-up, just shuffling around chips and dodging attacks, but it doesn't take long before the fights get tense.
I remember one early fight where I barely scraped by because I misjudged the enemy's pattern. The game doesn't hold your hand much, so you learn fast or get deleted. The team mechanics add a nice twist, though—Protoman actually feels useful, not just some AI that stands there.
It's still very much a Battle Network game, so if you liked the earlier ones, you'll probably enjoy this. If not, the grid battles might feel a bit repetitive after a while. MegaMan Battle Network 5 - Team Protoman (EU) does enough to keep things fresh, but it's not a huge leap from the rest of the series.
