You control Lan and his NetNavi MegaMan, exploring both the real world and the cybernetic net. The main goal is to liberate areas of the net taken over by the evil organization Nebula. Key mechanics include real time grid based combat where you use a customizable folder of Battle Chips, and new liberation missions where you strategically position allied Navis to clear corrupted panels under a turn limit. The pacing is brisk, with a good mix of puzzle solving and tense battles. It feels sharp and tactical, especially when you pull off a well timed chip combo or outmaneuver a tough boss.
