Game Overview

I picked up Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1995, a game published by Bandai. It was one of those licensed titles that came out during the platform's peak, aiming to capture the show's energy without trying to reinvent the wheel. You could tell it was made for fans who just wanted to step into those color-coded suits.

You control one of the five Rangers, each with their own basic attack and a special move, like Kimberly's cartwheel kick or Billy's techy uppercut. The main goal is to fight through side-scrolling stages, clearing out Putties and other monsters sent by Rita Repulsa. A key mechanic is the ability to morph at any time, which powers up your attacks and lets you unleash a screen-clearing special move when your meter is full. The pacing is pretty straightforward, but the difficulty can spike when enemies swarm you from all sides. It feels like a straightforward, button-mashing tribute to the TV series.
