Game Overview

Mortal Kombat II on SNES is where the series really hit its stride—way smoother than the first one, and the new characters like Baraka and Kung Lao made fights way more chaotic. The fatalities got even more ridiculous (in the best way), and pulling them off still feels like a weird mix of skill and luck. The AI can be brutal, though—Shang Tsung kept spamming fireballs at me until I figured out how to counter properly. If you grew up mashing buttons on this one, the digitized screams and that iconic "TOASTY!" are instant nostalgia.

Still holds up if you're into old-school fighters, just don't expect online play or fancy combos. It's pure, clunky, over-the-top fun.
