Game Overview

Murder on Violet Island was one of those MS-DOS Classic Games releases that didn't come from a big name developer, but it carved out its own little space. It felt very much of its time, a text parser adventure with static screens that relied on your imagination as much as the pixelated graphics.

You play a detective stranded on the island, and your only goal is to find the killer before they find you. The gameplay is all about methodically searching every location, picking up seemingly mundane objects, and presenting them to the right suspect to break their story. You spend a lot of time typing commands, trying to get the parser to understand "examine floorboards" or "ask butler about broken watch." The pacing is slow and deliberate, and missing a single clue can leave you completely stuck for hours. It feels like a genuine test of your observation and logic, a quiet battle of wits against the game itself.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
