You start off picking your favorite character—Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, the usual crew—and jump straight into these fast-paced ninja battles. The controls are simple at first (just button-mashing works early on), but later you’ll need to actually time your jutsu right or you’ll get wrecked by the AI.

What’s cool is how they handled the ninjutsu animations—they’re short but flashy, like little cutscenes for Rasengan or Chidori. The roster’s decent for a DS title, though don’t expect every Shippuden character under the sun. And yeah, it’s in Japanese, but the menus are easy enough to figure out if you’ve played any Naruto game before.
