Panthers in the Shadows is one of those MS-DOS games that makes you forget how old it is—once you start sneaking, you’re hooked. You play as this lone operative creeping through enemy bases, sticking to the shadows, timing your moves between patrols. The pixel art somehow makes it more tense—every flickering searchlight or guard turning your way feels like a mini heart attack.

It’s not about firepower here. You’ll spend way more time crouched behind crates, memorizing patrol routes, and holding your breath when a guard pauses suspiciously near your hiding spot. Mess up, and it’s instant alarms, shouting, and probably a reload. But when you nail a perfect run—slipping past everyone unseen—it’s ridiculously satisfying.

If you’ve played old Metal Gear or Commandos, this feels like their scrappy DOS cousin. No fancy cutscenes, just pure stealth tension with that janky-but-charming early ‘90s vibe. Just be warned: one mission turns into five, and suddenly it’s 2 AM.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
