Pokemon Lunar is one of those GBA roms that feels familiar but still has its own vibe. You start in a small town with the usual professor speech, but the region itself has this weirdly cozy atmosphere, like the colors are slightly muted but in a good way.

Early on, you notice some of the wild Pokemon are different from the main series. Not sure if they're fakemon or just rare variants, but catching them feels fresh. The battles run smooth, though the AI seems a bit smarter than usual—gym leaders actually switch out their weak Pokemon sometimes.

What sticks with me is how the day-night cycle affects things. Some routes change completely after dark, and there are Pokemon you only see under moonlight. It's not perfect—the pacing drags in a few spots—but Pokemon Lunar does enough to stand out.
