Game Overview

You play as one of those adorable, explosive penguin things from Disgaea—except this time, you're on a mission to recover Etna's stolen dessert. Good luck with that. The netherworld's packed with demons, and your fellow Prinnies keep blowing up when tossed around. At least you've got a magic scarf that stops you from detonating... until you die, anyway. Then the next poor penguin in line gets the scarf and keeps going.

It's a side-scroller with some surprisingly tight controls—you can spin for invincibility, hip-drop enemies from above, or even grab and throw them. Sometimes you'll hop into a tank or other weird vehicle, which never lasts as long as you'd like. The levels are tough but fair, and you get 1,000 lives to start (you'll need them). Between stages, you chat with Etna and the other Prinnies back at the castle, where the dialogue's as ridiculous as you'd expect from a Disgaea spin-off.

There's a normal mode where you can take three hits, and a brutal "Hell mode" where everything one-shots you. Either way, expect a lot of screaming "Dood!" as your penguin army slowly dwindles. It's chaotic, punishing, and weirdly charming—just like the series it came from.
