Game Overview

Pub Pool was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it didn't carry a specific release number. The game came from a time when simple, straightforward simulations were common on home computers, offering a digital version of familiar real-world activities without much fuss. It fit right in with other casual titles of the DOS era, providing a no frills way to kill some time.

You control a pool cue, aiming and setting power for each shot using the keyboard. The main goal is to clear your designated set of balls (stripes or solids) and then sink the 8 ball to win the frame. Key mechanics include adjusting the angle of your shot with careful precision, judging how hard to strike the cue ball, and dealing with basic physics that determine how balls carom off cushions or one another. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, which makes missed shots feel costly; the AI opponent doesn't offer much mercy on higher difficulty settings. It feels like a quiet, slightly stubborn game of patience, where every shot matters and luck is rarely on your side.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
