Puzzle Bobble came out on the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed and published by Taito. It was a straightforward, colorful puzzle game in an era when the SNES library was full of ambitious platformers and RPGs.

You control a small dinosaur at the bottom of the screen, aiming and launching colored bubbles upward to match groups of three or more. The main goal is to clear each screen of bubbles before they descend and reach the bottom. Key mechanics include banking shots off the side walls to reach tricky angles, and creating chain reactions to clear large sections at once.
