Play Resident Evil - Deadly Silence Online

The DS remake keeps the original's janky charm—you're still fumbling with tank controls in that creepy mansion, but now you're scribbling puzzle solutions and frantically stabbing zombies in first-person when they grab you. The bottom screen map saves your sanity, and yeah, you'll blow into the mic like an idiot to clear poison gas.

Game Overview

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence is basically the original PS1 horror classic, but with some clever DS twists. You still get that clunky-but-charming tank control survival horror, the same creepy mansion, and even the hilariously bad voice acting—but now you’ve got the touchscreen to mess with.

The map lives permanently on the bottom screen (thank god), so no more pausing every five seconds to figure out where you are. Some puzzles make you scribble solutions or tap locks open, and there’s this weird first-person knife-fighting minigame when zombies grab you. Yeah, you read that right—stabbing zombies in close quarters while they breathe down your neck. The mic even gets used for stuff like blowing poison gas away, which feels ridiculous but kind of works.

Oh, and there’s a multiplayer mode where you and three friends can either team up or compete in the mansion. It’s janky, but in that nostalgic "we’re all screaming at our DS screens" way. If you missed the original or just want to see how Resident Evil handles touch controls, this is a solid—and slightly silly—way to revisit Raccoon City.
