Game Overview

Rise of the Dragon came out in 1990 for MS-DOS, developed by Dynamix. It was one of those early point-and-click adventures that tried to do something a little different, blending cyberpunk with a classic detective story. At the time, it stood out for its detailed pixel art and its commitment to a dark, adult themed narrative, something not every game was attempting back then.

You play as private investigator Blade Hunter, navigating a futuristic Los Angeles to solve a kidnapping case with a strict three day time limit. The game plays out screen by screen; you click to move through environments, talk to characters, and collect items to use in puzzles. Combat is simple, handled through quick time event style prompts, and failing can mean instant death. The pacing is tense because the clock is always ticking, forcing you to prioritize leads and make careful choices. It feels like walking a tightrope where one wrong move can unravel everything you've built.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
