Rise of the Dragon drops you into a grimy, neon-soaked LA in 2053 where you play as Blade Hunter, an ex-cop turned detective with a serious case on his hands. The mayor’s daughter’s murder isn’t just brutal—it’s the tip of something way darker. The comic-book-style visuals (those hand-painted backdrops and digitized actor faces) give it this weirdly cool, pulpy vibe that still holds up.

What I love is how it ditches the usual adventure game "collect everything and combine it" routine. Instead, you’re constantly making choices—some conversations can straight-up end your game if you pick the wrong line. There’s also this sneaky internal clock ticking away, so you actually have to plan your moves instead of wandering around clicking on everything.

Oh, and those two side-scrolling action bits? They’re janky as hell, but at least the Amiga version lets you skip them after a few deaths. The Sega CD port forces you through them and slaps on some questionable green filters, though the added voice acting is a nice touch. It’s one of those games where you either embrace the weirdness or bail early.
