Game Overview

Road Rash on the Sega Master System is basically what happens when you mix illegal street racing with a bar fight. You’re speeding down winding roads, barely keeping control of your bike, and suddenly some jerk tries to sideswipe you—so naturally, you pull out a baseball bat and whack him into a ditch. The physics are janky in that classic 16-bit way, but that just makes it funnier when someone goes flying after a well-timed kick.

At first, I thought the combat would just be a gimmick, but it actually changes everything. You can’t just rely on speed—sometimes you’ve gotta slow down just to line up a solid hit. And if you’re broke after wrecking your bike (which happens a lot), you’ll be stuck racing some clunky junkheap until you scrape together enough prize money for an upgrade. It’s chaotic, ridiculous, and weirdly satisfying when you finally take first place by knocking out the guy in front of you at the finish line.
