Game Overview

Robot City is this weird little homebrew gem for the Atari 2600 where you play as a blocky robot navigating a maze of flickering neon corridors. At first it feels like a basic maze game, but then enemy drones start zipping around corners, and suddenly you're frantically mashing the joystick to line up shots with that satisfyingly chunky laser sound.

The whole thing has that classic Atari vibe—simple but surprisingly deep once you get into it. I kept finding hidden power-ups tucked behind walls I thought were just decoration. And yeah, it's clearly a work in progress (hence the V0.12), but there's something charming about watching a fan project evolve like this. If you've got a soft spot for that old-school "figure it out as you go" design, it's worth a few rounds.

Just don't expect a tutorial—half the fun is deciphering what everything does while avoiding those relentless patrol bots.
