Remember Scooter’s Magic Castle? That weirdly charming MS-DOS game where you wandered through a castle clicking on everything just to see what would happen? Half the fun was discovering the mini-games hidden in random objects—suddenly you’re matching shapes, composing little tunes, or watching some bizarre animation play out.

The owl guide was low-key the MVP, swooping in whenever you got stuck (which happened a lot if you were, say, six years old).
