Game Overview

SD Gundam GX is one of those SNES strategy games that looks cute with its chibi-style Gundams but actually gets pretty deep. You’re basically commanding squads of tiny mobile suits across grid-based maps, and yeah, it’s a sequel to GX—so if you played that, you’ll recognize the mechanics. The roster’s packed with fan favorites, though I remember getting wrecked a few times before figuring out which units actually worked well together.

Early on, you’ll spend a lot of time shuffling your little mechs around, trying not to get ambushed by Zakus. The sprite work’s charming, and there’s something satisfying about watching a perfectly executed flank attack with a team of Gundams. Just don’t expect a walk in the park—some missions will make you rethink your whole strategy halfway through.
