Game Overview

Shadow of Yserbius is one of those MS-DOS dungeon crawlers that somehow feels cozier than it should—probably because you can drag your friends into the chaos. You pick your party (I always went heavy on warriors, but mages come in clutch later), then descend into this sprawling, first-person fortress full of traps, monsters, and loot that makes the risk feel worth it.

The real magic? Playing online via The Sierra Network back in the day. Coordinating with your team while some skeleton archer picks you off from the shadows was equal parts thrilling and hilarious. The puzzles aren’t brain-melters, but they’re just tricky enough to make you pause and second-guess that suspiciously empty hallway.

It’s got that classic 90s RPG vibe—simple on the surface, but the deeper you go, the more it hooks you. Just don’t blame me when you lose three hours to a single floor because "one more room" turned into a full-blown expedition.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
