Shadow President came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, developed by DC True and published by Molimerx. It was part of that wave of complex simulations that pushed PCs beyond simple arcade action, asking players to think rather than just react. You don't control a spaceship or a hero; you control the Oval Office.

You play as the President of the United States, managing everything from foreign policy and military deployments to the domestic economy and your own approval rating. Your main objective is to survive your term without triggering a global war or being impeached. Key mechanics involve parsing intelligence reports, allocating funds to agencies like the CIA and military, and making critical decisions during international crises. The pacing is deliberate, almost stressful; days tick by as you wait to see if your choices avert disaster or make it worse. It feels less like playing a game and more like holding your breath for four years.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
