I picked up The Simpsons Game for the Nintendo DS back in 2007, a time when licensed games were everywhere and this one came from Electronic Arts. It felt like a natural fit for the handheld, offering a portable dose of Springfield that you could take anywhere, no TV required.
You control different members of the family, each with their own abilities; Homer turns into a giant ball to smash through obstacles, Bart uses his slingshot and graffiti to tag targets, and Lisaโs saxophone plays a key role in solving environmental puzzles. The main goal is to work through levels based on show locations, fighting enemies and collecting items to progress. The pacing is brisk, with simple combat and light platforming that keeps things moving without too much frustration. It feels like a straightforward, humorous adventure that captures the spirit of the show without overcomplicating things.
