Game Overview
I picked up The Simpsons Game for the PSP back in 2007, developed by EA Redwood Shores and published by Electronic Arts. It was a fun, portable dose of Springfield during a time when the PSP had a solid mix of original titles and console adaptations. The game doesn't take itself too seriously, and that's exactly what makes it work.
You control different members of the Simpsons family, each with unique abilities; Homer can turn into a giant ball to smash obstacles, Bart becomes Bartman to glide and use his slingshot, and Lisa summons a hand of Buddha to move objects. The main goal is to progress through levels that parody various game genres, from platforming to shooters, while collecting video game clichés to advance the story. The pacing is brisk, with simple puzzles and combat that keep things moving without much frustration. It feels like playing through several episodes of the show, packed with humor and familiar voices.
