SkyRoads Xmas Special came out in 1993 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, a holiday-themed version of the original SkyRoads. It was developed by Bluemoon and published by a few different labels, but it really captured that early '90s shareware spirit. You’d find it on floppies or bundled discs alongside other simple, addictive titles that didn’t need much explanation to get into.

You control a small spacecraft that speeds automatically along a narrow, floating road suspended in space. Your only inputs are thrust, brake, and jump; timing is everything. The goal is to survive each stage by avoiding obstacles like gaps in the track, moving barriers, and festive hazards such as snowmen or candy canes. You collect power-ups for extra speed or invincibility, and the screen scrolls relentlessly forward. The difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and memorization. It feels like a tense, rhythmic dance where one mistimed leap sends you spinning into the void.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
