Download Space Ace_Disk1 ROM – Amiga Game
1989 action game for Amiga. Play as Space Ace or Dexter in quick-time event gameplay. Rescue Kimberly, stop Commander Borf. Features arcade-style reflex-based inputs and animated visuals.
Space Ace on the Amiga is basically a stripped-down version of the laserdisc arcade classic—same frantic "press the right button or die horribly" gameplay, but with redrawn animations to fit 16-bit hardware. You play as either Space Ace or his younger self Dexter (thanks to an unfortunate run-in with an Infanto-Ray), dodging, shooting, and occasionally faceplanting into failure animations while trying to save Earth and your kidnapped girlfriend.
It’s missing the arcade version’s branching paths, so no choosing between Ace or Dexter for certain scenes—you just get what the game gives you. The animations still have that old-school Don Bluth charm, though, even if they’re not quite as smooth as the original. If you’ve played Dragon’s Lair, you know exactly what you’re in for: lots of trial-and-error, some frustration, and a weirdly satisfying loop of memorizing timings just to see the next ridiculous death scene.
Not the deepest game, but a fun nostalgia trip if you’re into quick-time events before they were called quick-time events.
