Space Ace on the Amiga is one of those classic laser-disc games that feels like playing an interactive cartoon. You control Ace, this space hero trying to rescue his girlfriend from the villain Borf, and the whole thing plays out in these gorgeous animated sequences. The Amiga version actually holds up pretty well—smooth animation, vibrant colors, and that same frantic "press the right button at the right time" energy as Dragon’s Lair.

It’s tough, though. Like, really tough. You’ll die a lot before memorizing the timing for jumps, dodges, and blaster shots. But when you nail a sequence and watch Ace pull off some ridiculous acrobatic move, it’s weirdly satisfying. The disk-swapping (yep, it’s a multi-disk game) can be a pain, but the cheesy sci-fi dialogue and over-the-top action make it worth the hassle.

If you’ve got the patience for trial-and-error gameplay and love retro animation, this one’s a blast from the past.
