Spike's Peak came out in 1983 for the Atari 2600, developed by Telesys. It was one of those games that felt right at home on the system, a straightforward action challenge without a lot of frills, just you against a mountain.

You control a climber moving up a vertically scrolling mountain face. Your goal is to reach the summit and plant your flag. You dodge bears at the base, scramble past falling boulders halfway up, then race the snowman to plant your flag before freezing solid. The screen scrolls automatically, forcing you to keep moving or get crushed, and the difficulty ramps up quickly with each new hazard. That mountain wants you dead, and every successful climb feels like a narrow escape.
