Game Overview

Star Chamber was released in 2000 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Naked Sky Entertainment. It arrived at a time when turn-based strategy was still finding its footing on home computers, offering a sci-fi twist on the political and territorial struggles familiar to board game enthusiasts. The game doesn't try to overwhelm with graphics; it relies on a clean, functional interface that puts the focus squarely on decision-making.

You control a fledgling space empire, managing resources, constructing ships, and negotiating with rival factions. Your main objective is to dominate the star map through conquest or diplomacy, but trust is a rare commodity. Signature mechanics include bidding for planetary control using a hidden influence system, moving fleets across connected star systems, and forming—and breaking—alliances that shift the balance of power. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, with each turn demanding careful calculation of risk and betrayal. It feels like a tense, high-stakes poker game where every player is hiding their cards.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
