Star Fox came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of the first games to use the Super FX chip, which gave the SNES the ability to render simple 3D polygonal graphics, something that felt genuinely new at the time. You control Fox McCloud, piloting an Arwing fighter through a series of on-rails shooting stages. Your main goal is to lead your team through the Lylat system and defeat Andross. The gameplay revolves around shooting down enemy ships, dodging environmental obstacles, and using a limited shield that depletes with each hit. A well-timed barrel roll deflects incoming laser fire, and pulling back on the control stick makes your ship somersault to avoid obstacles head-on. The game moves fast and can be brutally difficult, especially on the more complex routes. It feels like a tense, chaotic dogfight where one wrong move can end your run in an instant.
