Game Overview

Star Rank Boxing II is one of those MS-DOS games that looks basic at first glance—blocky fighters, a plain ring, no fancy cutscenes—but once you throw your first punch, it clicks. The controls are dead simple (arrow keys to move, a couple of buttons to swing), but timing matters way more than you’d expect. Miss a dodge, and that pixelated hook will send your guy stumbling like he just got hit with a bag of bricks.

What I love is how the AI actually adapts. Early fights feel easy, but by the third or fourth match, opponents start feinting, countering, and straight-up humiliating you if you button-mash. The career mode’s nothing deep—just a ladder of increasingly brutal boxers—but there’s something weirdly satisfying about finally knocking out that smug middleweight who kept dodging your right hooks.

It’s not fancy, but it’s got that ‘one more round’ pull. Just don’t blame me when you realize you’ve been hunched over your keyboard for an hour trying to avenge your last loss.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
