Game Overview

Star Trek: Judgment Rites came out in 1993 for MS-DOS, developed by Interplay Productions. It was part of that wave of early '90s adventure games that relied on pixel art, text parsers, and a lot of imagination. You play as Captain Kirk, with the full original series crew along for the ride, facing a series of standalone episodes plus a larger story arc.

You control Kirk directly, moving him screen by screen to explore starships, alien worlds, and space stations. The main objective is to solve puzzles through dialogue with characters, using items from your inventory, and occasionally making choices that affect how the story unfolds. You talk to your crew for advice, combine objects to bypass obstacles, and direct away teams during tense landing party missions. The pacing is deliberate, with some puzzles requiring careful observation or revisiting previous locations. It feels like stepping into an old episode where your decisions carry weight and the characters actually talk back.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
