Game Overview

Striker is a classic MS-DOS soccer game, part of the broader collection of early 90s sports titles that ran on home computers. It was developed by Rage Software, a studio that later became known for more polished sports simulations, but here the approach was simpler, more direct. You got a functional, no frills football experience that ran on the hardware people actually had, not the machines they dreamed of owning.

You control a team of blocky players from an isometric perspective, passing and shooting with a surprising amount of tactical input for the era. The main objective is straightforward: score more goals than the opposing team. Its signature mechanics include a powerful sliding tackle that often sends opponents flying and a shot system where holding the button longer increases the power, though not always the accuracy. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with computer opponents that seize on any mistake. It feels like a chaotic, unpredictable match where any bounce of the oddly shaped ball could lead to glory or disaster.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
