Game Overview

Super Mario Something is one of those fan-made SNES games that somehow nails the feel of an official Mario title—but with way more weirdness. The first level lulls you into thinking it's just another Mushroom Kingdom romp, until you hit a warp pipe and suddenly you're platforming through a candy-coated nightmare or dodging giant pencils in a school-themed stage. The controls are butter-smooth, exactly how you remember, but the level designers clearly had too much fun with the concept.

What really got me was the power-ups. There's the usual fire flowers and stars, but then you stumble on something like the "bubble wand" that lets you float in slow-mo, or a mushroom that turns Mario into a tiny, sprinting version of himself. Found a hidden path behind a waterfall that led to a whole Zelda-style puzzle room—no idea how that fits into Mario logic, but I wasn't complaining. If you've ever thought "what if Mario, but weirder?", this is your answer.

It's short, maybe an afternoon playthrough, but packed with enough surprises to make you grin like you're 10 years old again.
