The first thing you'll notice is how familiar it all feels—same crisp jumps, same satisfying shell kicks—but then you stumble into these weird little islands with levels that twist the classic formula just enough to keep you guessing.

Some of the new power-ups are ridiculous in the best way (there's one that turns Mario into a flying squirrel, which shouldn't work but totally does), and the hidden exits? Way more devious than the original. I got stuck for like 20 minutes on this one ghost house because I kept overlooking a single breakable block near the start. Classic Mario troll logic.

If you've played Super Mario World to death, this feels like digging up a lost cartridge you somehow missed as a kid. Just don't expect it to go easy on you—some of those later levels get brutal.
